Norwood is a wonderful Town!
To the Editor:
We have had far too many instances this year where people and families were/are in significant need! Thankfully, we have churches, and community organizations including the PTO’s, Anni’s Attic, WCC,and the Food Pantry that work hard to assist those in need. We also have companies that help support our endeavors.
I want to thank all the generous people and families that helped to give gifts to children in need over the holidays. For several weeks before the holidays, I had gifts delivered to my doorstep. The toys and books were from newborn to 5 years of age. In addition to the books and toys, there were some deliveries of formula, diapers and clothes! You supported over 70 children! It's an honor to reside in this community with you all.

Norwood protected its neighbors
To the Editor:
Kudos to the residents of Neponset Street for their dedication and commitment in their resolve to protect their neighborhood and the Town of Norwood by opposing the latest application to turn the woods at Pendergast Circle into an overflow parking lot for Enterprise Rental at 596 Boston Providence Highway that would cause such an adverse effect to the entire area. Many thanks also go to all those Norwood residents from other districts who came to the Public Hearings and spoke or wrote in support of their fellow Town residents. Praise well deserved! It made a big difference as last week the Zoning Board of Appeals denied this latest application.
The ramps and woods at Pendergast Circle are the Gateway to Norwood Center via Nahatan Street and should have been exempted from the Boston Providence Highway District at the outset, but unfortunately were not. As a first step, residents decided to go to Town Meeting to change the zoning from commercial back to residential. On May 8, 2023, Town Meeting voted overwhelmingly in favor 151-31.
Next steps? How can the residents rezone the lots again, including the woods along the ramps at Pendergast Circle, to be “non-buildable conservation land?” The quality of life of Norwood residents should have top priority and supersede any development there. It is absolutely amazing what the Power of the People can do. It already has.
