Over the years, Terry became one of the most experienced officers on the shift and a trusted presence for younger officers beginning their careers. His calm approach, sound judgment, and willingness to help others made him an important source of guidance for many members of the department adjusting to the demands of police work and overnight patrol.

Those who worked alongside Terry knew him as someone who could always be counted on. He approached every call with professionalism and handled situations with a steady, thoughtful demeanor. Despite the respect he earned from colleagues and supervisors alike, Terry was never one to seek attention or praise, preferring instead to credit the team around him.

Former supervisor Lt. Murphy (Ret.) once summed up Terry’s value to the department by remarking, “Just give me four Terry Connollys,” reflecting the confidence he had in Terry’s ability to handle the responsibilities of the job with skill and reliability.

Terry was also known among his fellow officers for his dry wit and understated sense of humor, which brought many moments of levity to the midnight shift and will be fondly remembered by those who had the opportunity to serve with him.

Officer Connolly leaves behind a legacy of dedication, mentorship, and service to the Town of Norwood. He will be remembered with great respect by the members of this department and by the many people whose lives he touched throughout his career.

Our thoughts and condolences are with Terry’s family, friends, and loved ones during this difficult time. May he rest in peace.
