SMITH

Maureen C. (Crimlisk), of Norwood passed away at her home, surrounded by the love of her family on Wednesday August 12, 2026. She was 71.

Born in Brighton, Maureen was the daughter of the late Mary (Carroll) and John Crimlisk. She was a graduate of St. Columbkille School in Brighton, and went on to earn her Masters Degree from Bridgewater State College. Maureen worked for many years in the Norwood Public Schools and Brockton Public Schools as an educator for pupils in special education.

Maureen was the beloved wife of 48 years of Robert W. Smith of Norwood, and the devoted mother of Robert Smith and girlfriend Marie Strazzulla of Norwood, Jennifer and her husband Ryan McSheffrey of Brighton, and Michael Smith and his wife Carlyn of Walpole. She was the sister of John Crimlisk of Brighton, Paul Crimlisk and his wife Cheryl of Belmont, and Joan Crimlisk of Derry NH. Maureen was the proud grandmother of Rowan, Etta, Liam, Eliza, and Callum, and is survived by many nieces and nephews.

Visiting Hours will be held in the Gillooly Funeral Home, 126 Walpole Street (Rte. 1A) NORWOOD on Thursday (Today) August 20, from 4-8 PM, and again on Friday August 21, at 10 AM, prior to the Funeral Mass which will be celebrated in St. Catherine of Siena Parish, 547 Washington Street, Norwood at 11 o'clock. Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, West Roxbury.
