Thanks From The Rotary

The Neponset Valley Sunrise Rotary Club (NVSRC) recently celebrated our 25th Anniversary. On behalf of our club, I want to deeply thank the entire staff at Gemma for treating us to such a great venue, offering us such delicious food and cocktails, and for providing us with the highest level of service during our milestone event at Gemma. I thank all of our roughly 90 guests who made the night so special, and I offer a special “thank you” to our key sponsors who helped raise more than $30,000 for our club during this ‘25th Anniversary’ campaign, particularly our benefactors at One Local Bank, Dedham Savings, and Bank of Canton. Mere words cannot adequately express our deep gratitude to each of you! Your financial support significantly helps us begin funding NVSRC’s charitable projects for the next 25 years. NVSRC held its first event 25 years ago, the day after ‘9/11’, September 12, 2001. It was truly a bittersweet moment, one that our club’s charter members will never forget. Over the past 25 years, our club has substantially funded both local and global charities, ranging from international clean water and literacy initiatives, to local school fundraising projects, to the support of our local trails committees, to the enrichment of our community food pantries. We’ve made these financial commitments through a variety of grants and club fundraising activities, the most lucrative of which has been our annual ‘Duck Race on the Charles’, a phenomenally successful event that has now spanned nearly a quarter century. NVSRC thrives from the blended energy of our relatively newer group of members, combined with a group of seasoned Rotarians, some of whom remain founding members in the club. We are very proud of the work that we do in supporting our local and global communities, and in actively pursuing ongoing growth in our club membership.
