NPD seeking public assistance in hit and run
Two pedestrians struck
Norwood Police Chief Christopher Padden reports that the Norwood Police Department is seeking the public's assistance in identifying the driver of a vehicle involved in a serious hit-and-run incident that injured two pedestrians Saturday evening.
At approximately 6:30 p.m., on Saturday, Oct. 24, Norwood Police and Fire Departments responded to reports of two pedestrians struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Washington and Day streets.
One pedestrian suffered serious injuries and the other suffered minor injuries. Both were transported to an area hospital, treated, and later released.
The driver of the vehicle fled the scene. The suspect vehicle is believed to be an older model, black mid-size or small SUV. A witness reported to police that the vehicle briefly pulled over and stopped a short distance from the collision, but left before police arrived on the scene.
If anyone in the area saw a vehicle matching the description or had an operational dash camera that captured footage of the incident or footage in the vicinity from before or after the incident, please contact Detective Jennifer Hoyle at the Norwood Police Department by calling 781-762-1212 or emailing reportatip@norwoodma.gov.
The crash remains under investigation by the Norwood Police Department.
