A Heartfelt Thank You To Our Community

On behalf of everyone involved in our 25th anniversary of the September 11th remembrance blood drive with the American Red Cross, I would like to offer our deepest thanks to the members of our community who came forward to donate blood, volunteer their time, and support this meaningful day. The fact that we exceeded the American Red Cross’s expected goal is beyond rewarding!

Twenty-five years after the attacks of September 11, 2001, we continue to remember the lives lost, the bravery of first responders, and the families and communities forever changed. In the days that followed, people across the country looked for ways to help. Many rolled up their sleeves to give blood, offering a simple but powerful act of compassion when it was needed most.

Thursday, September 10th, Norwood carried that same spirit forward. Each donor who walked through the door, each volunteer who greeted neighbors, each individual who helped make the drive possible, and each person who encouraged someone else to participate helped turn remembrance into action. Your generosity honored the past while giving hope to patients and families who depend on the lifesaving blood donations from today.

Blood donation is often a quiet gift of life. The person who receives it may never know the name of the donor, but the impact is deeply felt. Because of your selflessness and willingness to give, someone facing surgery, a child in need, a patient in cancer treatment, trauma, childbirth complications, or a serious illness may have a better chance at healing and going home to loved ones, all because you chose to donate yesterday.

Thank you for stepping up and being part of what it means to be a caring and united community. On a day rooted in memory, you chose to serve. On an anniversary marked by loss, you offered life. That is a tribute worthy of this solemn milestone, and it is one we will not soon forget.
